A close friend of Open Door Robotics Co-Founder Mike Soniat explained the difficulties they were having with some of the activities of daily living around the house. New advances in assistive technology were often too expensive for the individual user, rarely simple to install, and hardly ever portable.That's all Mike needed to hear. With a background as both as a technologist and entrepreneur, he teamed up with fellow engineer Wayne Newitts and Open Door Robotics was born.Today, Open Door Robotics is a fast-growing start-up preparing to launch it's first commercially available product, DOOR-E^TM
